Easton on the Hill Parish Council

Community Speedwatch

From the recent resident survey, and the petition about reducing the speed on the A43 from 40 to 30mph, many residents feel the speed of some vehicles is a problem, being dangerous and scary for pedestrians, cyclists and all drivers, especially if exiting properties. There is an opportunity to be a part of addressing the speed of vehicles by operating a Community Speedwatch scheme (CSW). Ideally 6 volunteers are needed as they operate in 2 or 3 people each time. There is an online training video to complete and safety clothing and equipment provided. If you would like to get involved in this initiative, please do contact the clerk in the first instance - details below. Driving behaviour could change as a result.

CCTV working group

Some residents also cited anti-social behaviour as being an issue in some parts of the village and more people supported the introduction of CCTV/surveillance cameras. The Parish Council would like to involve residents ion looking at the feasibility of cameras at certain locations and the monitoring thereof and evidence to provide to the police.  If you would be willing to be a part of a "task and finish" group to look at this, please do get in touch - details below.

Village Survey Analysis 2026

Above is the link to the resident survey summary again for your information and reference, available to view on the council website www.eastononthehill-pc.gov.uk. The Parish Council will be taking action on these issues and specifically providing some training in the future on how to report highway problems eg potholes, footpaths etc. and doing a walkabout the village to highlight some main problem areas (as well as the above). Watch this space!

Spring Close

The Parish Council decided to explore the use of the collection monies from the Post Office to purchase a tree (linked to Poland if possible) to be planted on the site of the old Polish war memorial, with a commemorative plaque.

Next meeting date is 13th July 2026 at 7pm - all welcome.  There is no ordinary meeting in August. Next one is 14th September 2026.
