Vacant allotment

Burning green waste

Please can all residents be respectful when getting rid of garden waste?  There have recently been bonfires, for two days running in the daytime, burning wet stuff and this caused a lot of smoke and nearby residents with lung disease struggled with breathing as a result.  There is a garden waste removal service available from the Unitary Council and residents are requested to please use it rather than light bonfires.  There are different, reasonable options available - see link.

Grass cutting contract renewal

The Parish Council is looking for contractors to quote for a grass cutting service throughout the village, covering the small green areas managed by the Parish Council, Spring Close Pocket Park, the Drift playing field and The Close play area.  The contract is for next season and for an initial 3 years term.  Please contact me the Clerk for more information if you are interested, details below.

Parish Councillor elections

Please look out for an advert in the New Year for Parish Councillors to stand in the next election in May 2025.  All 11 positions are up for grabs, although obviously some current Councillors will be re-standing, it would be good to have a contested election for all seats to serve the residents of Easton on the Hill.

Monthly run

The Parish Council asked in the last issue if residents would be interested in a local running club (it was called a Park Run, but it would be less formal than that) to meet once a month for a run together with other keen enthusiasts around the playing field.  Please get in touch if you are interested.

Cleaner vacancy

Wittering Premiar Football Club who hire the Easton pitches and pavilion are on the lookout for a cleaner to clean the pavilion after home matches.  They will pay £25 for a couple of hours.  Please get in touch if you are interested, either the Clerk or Billy Wright on 07763 187970.
