Easton on the Hill Parish Council News

Annual Parish/Village Meeting

The next meeting of the Parish Council includes the Parish Meeting and starts at 7.00pm on Wednesday 12th April 2023.  This is an opportunity for all residents to come and hear what the Parish Council has done in the past year, and what other village groups have been up to. We also hope to hear from our Ward Councillor and the Police. We will also invite representatives of a new group, Rockingham Forest Vision, who will tell us about their conservation plans for our part of the world. Please come and hear about what's going on in the village generally and raise any issues of concern.

Flytipping - new link for reporting

Please note the new link to report flytipping is

You can also use the What 3 Words app for quicker and easier reporting of where it is located.

Neighbourhood Plan (NP)

Recently, we asked whether there were residents interested in forming a NP group to formulate a village NP. It takes a lot of resource, time and expertise to do one but can mean there is more useful and considered future village development. One resident has come forward so far and the Parish Council agreed to ask again at the Parish Meeting, mentioned above.

Playing Field Management Committee (PFMC)

The PFMC held an open meeting on 22/3/23 and feedback is not known at the time of writing this.  They wanted to know what residents want for the playing field in the future.  The plan was originally to try to fund a Multi Use Games Area and a pump track but this was said before all the other changes had been installed and ideas/needs may have changed. Some options were being presented to get feedback and views to steer the PFMC in the right direction. Results will be communicated in due course.  The next public PFMC meeting is 18/4/23, when the cricket club will also outline their future plans.

King's Coronation

The Parish Council will be advertising the volunteer Big Help Out day on 8/5/23 and, as well as circulating information on volunteering opportunities nationally, will be organising some local activities for residents to get involved in around the village - not least to possibly help with the Polish war memorial rebuild, painting/cleaning/litter picking etc. More to come on this!

Spring Close

This area will be getting a mini uplift shortly thanks for another successful NNC grant application.  Look out for new trees and a memorial plaque dedicated to HM The late Queen, plus new fencing later on.

Seen the (new) signs?

We thought it was about time we updated the signage in the village for walkers and visitors (and residents) who need guiding to our various village destinations. Hope you like them.
