Easton on the Hill Parish Council news

We hope you all will have a suitably warm and festive Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Lighting electricity supply contract

The Parish Council decided to accept a new contract and supplier at their most recent meeting. They accepted a 3 year fixed rate deal with Yu Energy via Clear Utility Solutions, who work with many Parish Councils and are able to secure better rates with other councils on board. The rate is still going to be around 3.5 times more than the current rate with SSE, but that is a national issue and the budget for next year has had to account for this increase.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Points engagement 

North Northamptonshire Council has recently identified 10 possible new sites for EV charging points, including in the High St, Easton on the Hill. The Parish Council were only made aware of this the day before the letters were starting to be sent. Residents should expect a survey type letter to ask for views and will run until 29/12/22.  A formal consultation will take place if the site is progressed further. Wild Woodland Way 

This area, alongside the play area at the playing fields, is being developed further with a new insect hotel and bird boxes installed.  Owl boxes will be installed too and an extension to the path completed soon.  Thank you to Councillor Simon Woodman and PFMC member Kevin Cox for their hard work, Councillor Nicol and the Birch Tree café staff for making/installing the boxes.

Winter warmer events

The Parish Council is pleased to see these sessions on Mondays in the village hall attended regularly and supporting residents and were happy to support them with a £150 donation towards resources.
