Curate on the Hill

Monday, 5 October 2020

My big news is that after a 3 month delay I was Ordained in the Cathedral on Saturday. It was a very small event due to Covid restrictions but as a result it was very personal and powerful. If you want to watch the service it is available on the Peterborough Cathedral Facebook page. You do not need a facebook account to watch. You might now see me around the village in my dog collar and if you do please do say hello. It has been a long journey for me as I wasn’t brought up in a religious household. I felt a funny desire to explore what I really thought about spirituality when I was in my twenties. Luckily, I went to church where I met a vicar who understood that the first step is a little challenging. I hold onto these thoughts as I become an ordained minister and want to make it as easy as possible for people to explore their own faith without judgement or expectation.

There are a variety of services coming up in October.

Sunday 4th at 10:30 there is a whole Benefice service over at King’s Cliffe.

Sunday 11th 16:30 - Joyful Journey (see below)

Sunday 18th 10:30 - Holy Communion

Sunday 25th 09:00 - Holy Communion

Also, there is morning Prayer every Friday 09:00

In response to some local feedback we are starting a new type of service. On Sunday 11th October at 16:30 a service called Joyful Journey will start- This is a new style of service with a less formal feel and more modern music. It will last about 30 mins and feel free to come along to see what it’s about. We are limited in numbers to about 25 due to social distancing and all who come will need to wear a face-mask. We would, however, love to see people who might not usually go to church or a searching for something a bit different.
