Tour de Sands latest.....

Charity Governance.

Jerry, Tim and Karl are, with support from William Kirkpatrick, working on submitting annual abbreviated accounts and our annual report to the Charity Commission by the end of August. As previously noted, our income so far is £90,000, a fabulous total, and we have so far committed £72,000 to our partner charities, St Barnabas Hospice Lincolnshire and the Lymphoedema Support Network (LSN).

Our next ride

We've moved the date around a bit but it's now confirmed that we will have another day ride on Sunday September 30th. This will be a bit like our Reunion Ride earlier in the year, but we want to involve as many of the Healthcare Professionals in South Lincolnshire as possible that have a connection to end of life care. We are developing a route that will take in the key St Barnabas Hospice venues in our area, in Grantham, Bourne, and Market Deeping. Options will be be available for shorter/longer routes (around 50 and around 30 miles) and we hope to welcome some more participants from the local healthcare community to join us. We hope to pass some of the surgeries and homes that are connected to St Barnabas and perhaps have a relay among them. Start and finish is likely to be in Stamford, cost will be £20 for the full route, £10 for the shorter route. More details will be announced as we confirm them, but for now save the date and get on that bike!

In the meantime….

There's a cycling event taking place throughout Northamptonshire (and some other counties) on Saturday September 8th. The Northamptonshire Historic Churches Trust (NHCT) "Ride and Stride" event is a great opportunity to plan your own route and ride around some of the many (over 350) Churches and Chapels in Northamptonshire and raise some much needed funds for All Saints Church Easton on the Hill and the NHCT. Some Churches will be open for refreshments and all you need to do is record which Churches you visit between 10.00am and 6.00pm. I can send further details and sponsor forms, and more information is available here: http://www.rideandstrideuk.org/counties/northamptonshire/

You might like to know that St Barnabas are holding a "Midnight Walk" in Stamford on September 15th - OK it's not cycling but it is helping our partners and you might like to take part or sponsor someone; take a look here for more information.
