Friends of the Playing Field
The Parish Council have a lot of work to do to bring the Pavilion and the Playing Field up to a standard we can all be proud of and we can all use enjoyably and easily. Major works will start in June to re-clad the pavilion exterior and renew the changing room floors. A lot of work has already been done by, and under the supervision of, our “Grounds Maintenance Contractor” Kevin Cox, who has a long and passionate association with the Playing Field and who remains one of the main driving forces behind all the developments. There are however some jobs that are suited to volunteers, for example trimming hedges, clearing the path, controlling nettles, levelling molehills, making bird boxes and bug hotels for the Woodland area and keeping it tidy. There will be further work to do in the Woodland area in time when we have agreed a “Nature Recovery Plan” for the area.
If you would like to be part of an informal group of helpers, called “Friends of the Playing Field” and hear more about the jobs to be done, please join us on Sunday 12th May at 10.30am at the Pavilion.
We also plan to hold an Open Day on Sunday September 8th, by which time the Pavilion will be looking a lot better.
If you would like to go on the circulation list for emails about this in future, or if you can’t make Sunday 12th but want to be involved, please email tim@mihcentre.co.uk or call Kevin on 07732452575.
