Parish Council Update October 2023

Spring Close
A big thank you to all those involved in the Spring Close “re-furb”. Many village volunteers and Parish Councillors have strimmed, cut, planted and tidied, plus replaced the fencing and a big thank you to Martin Bates for sanding and painting or staining the benches. It all looked suitably smart for the recent dedication of the Polish war memorial.

Sports pavilion
The old cricket pavilion has been officially handed over in ownership to the Parish Council (PC). Thé Playing Field Management Committee (PFMC) has been working hard to fix vital operational things and work is ongoing to improve it further to allow it to function safely for hirers. However, the PC still needs to make a long term decision about its future - planned for the October meeting - to ensure the costs of refurb and maintenance can mainly break even with income from hirers.

Nature recovery
Rockingham Vision has been helping the Parish Council to identify areas in the village where work could be done on nature recovery projects and wildlife regeneration. Watch this (green) space!

All welcome to input to agenda items at the next PC meeting on 9th October and the 18th October for the next PFMC meeting - details on the website and notice boards.
